Sermon notes

1. Paul's Recommendation was that it was better to have the gift of prophesy rather than tongues. a. So how can we Recognise the gift of prophecy? 2. In some ways, the gifts of prophecy and tongues Resembled one another. a. The content of their messages was Revelation from God. b. They could both be Resented. 3. In other ways, the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues seemed the Reverse of each other. a. The message of Tongues by itself, was not Recognised by people, but the message of the prophets was understood by all. b. The use of Tongues only Roused the speaker in tongues, whereas the one with the gift of prophecy Revitalised everyone in the church. c. Of the two gifts, prophecy is more worthy of our Respect than the use of the gift of tongues, unless there is someone to translate the message. d. To minister in any way without Refining someone's understanding is like speaking into the air where no one can hear you.
